NEW YORK—MR Magazine today released the names of 12 men’s specialty retailers and two Menswear Hall of Fame honorees to be recognized at the 2011 Uptown Downtown awards for innovation, on July 18th at The Four Seasons restaurant in New York.
David Witman, executive VP and GMM, menswear and kidswear divisions at Nordstrom, and Russ Patrick, senior VP and GMM, Neiman Marcus, will be inducted into the Menswear Hall of Fame that night, joining other living legends like David Fisher of Bloomingdale’s, Tom Kalenderian of Barneys, Jack and Bill Mitchell of Mitchells, Kent and Gerry Gushner of Boyds, and Harry and Larry Rosen of Harry Rosen. The former honorees will all be invited back to attend the induction of the newest members.
The 12 specialty retailers, who will be recognized for their innovation, business acumen and creativity, come from all parts of the country and represent both the classic or Uptown point of view, as well as the more contemporary or Downtown style orientation.
