Earlier this month, New York City showcased the best of Spanish fashion during the annual Soho Mile. Iberian design was celebrated at eight of Soho’s finest retailers including Custo Barcelona, Mascaro Pretty Ballerinas, Tierr, Mango, Camper, Agatha Ruiz De La Prada, Tous and the Fashion from Spain Showcase. The event represented Spain’s unique culture and history, embracing all things rojo with a “Go Red” theme this year.

To begin, every guest received a red scarf and had the chance to enter to win generous prizes by visiting and collecting stamps on their fashion “passport.” Every location offered music and refreshments bringing excitement and socializing to the shopping experience. The finish line was home and office furnishings design store Blu Dot where products from Fashion and Footwear from Spain were displayed and cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and live music transported shoppers directly to España. The shoes displayed were unique and edgy, featuring designers Biviel, Castaner, Chie Mithara, Magnanni and Pura Lopez. Sendra Boots put their best foot forward with chic, dramatic styles from their 2011-1012 fall-winter collection.

  1. Very nice piece on the Spaniard culture. I hope to see more work from Amy Sciaretta, she seems to have a great scene for Spanish fashion and fashion in general. Magnanni shoes are my favorite.
