The newest Destination XL store from Casual Male opened last week with an invitation-only event for vendors in Las Vegas. The 13,000 sq. ft. store is one of three currently open. Others are in Schaumburg, Illinois outside of Chicago, and Memphis, Tennessee. A fourth unit will open in September in Houston.
According to CEO David Levin, Destination XL melds the two current formats, Casual Male and Rochester Big and Tall, into one much more appealing format that has something for everyone. The prices at the store range from moderate well into better, including brands like Ike Behar, Jack Victor, Cutter & Buck and Robert Talbott alongside Nautica, Geoffrey Beene, Levi’s and private labels. The response to the store by those attending the event was overwhelmingly positive, as this seems to give the chain a strong direction for future growth.
