Q: I wrapped up a surprisingly strong spring season. What should I expect for spring 2013?

A: Spring ’13 sales will depend a lot on the momentum and mood that we see this fall, but what we do know is that menswear buyers are excited about the spring product. We’ve heard a lot of positive feedback about the selection, and that should help boost sales. In terms of trends, sports coats look strong and colors continue to pop.

Our best advice for the season is to think positive but plan conservatively, since sales tend to go down in a post-election year.
