NEW YORK—Scabal USA has named Craig Wertheim as its new national sales manager. Wertheim will lead Scabal’s US sales team, working with San Francisco-based sales executive Harvey Resnick and New York-based client service representative Dan Santiago. He will start December 1 and work out of the New York office.
Wertheim, the owner of Werth Textile & Apparel Group, has extensive experience in the textile business, having held positions at Holland & Sherry, Roger La Viale and Gladson Ltd. He will be closing down his Werth business to take the Scabal job.
“Scabal USA is delighted to announce the appointment of Craig Wertheim as national sales manager,” said Scabal USA president Neil Hart in a letter to clients. “Craig has many years of experience in the custom tailoring industry and an in-depth knowledge of fabrics. I am sure Craig, who will be based out of New York, is looking forward to meeting you all over the coming months and to growing the Scabal business further in the United States.”
Scabal was founded by Otto Hertz in 1938 in Brussels, Belgium as a fabric supplier. The business has grown to include men’s ready-to-wear and made-to-measure tailored clothing. It operates retail stores around the world and produces its own fabrics in Huddersfield, England. Scabal USA opened its US office at 55th Street and Sixth Avenue in November, 2010.
