My new hero

Help Charles Garone produce a festive and free shopping experience for the Staten Island victims of Hurricane Sandy.

I’ve always loved Charles Garone and now I love him even more! A few weeks ago, Charles saw a Facebook post stating that Staten Island victims of Hurricane Sandy are in desperate need of many things, but not old clothes. “They do not need further donations of used soiled clothing: they are hurting and need help regaining their dignity…” posted Staten Island Community Board Chair Leticia Remauro.

After reading this, Charles contacted Fashion Delivers and volunteered to produce a FREE “holiday pop-up shop” on Staten Island with their help providing product. They had initially expected 1,000 attendees over the two-day event (happening December 22, 1:00-7:00 pm and December 23, 10 am -7:00 pm) but now they expect 2,000 and need more clothes. What’s needed: men’s denim, women’s plus sizes, sneakers, hats, and other unused garments and accessories.

To donate, just visit FashionDelivers.com and fill out the short form. Fashion Delivers thanks you (and will arrange/pay for the shipment), Charles thanks you, and the still-suffering people of Staten Island thank you most of all.

Volunteers are also needed to set up on December 21 and assist at the event on the 22 and 23. Contact Charles Garone at 917-515-4531.
