Sparking interest in spring product

Q: We’re finally coming to the end of January, where we’ve seen slow post-Christmas sales. What should I do now to spark interest in my spring product?

A: Sales come in waves and I expect the first wave of spring sales to start immediately. This wave will last three to four weeks, and make up 15-20 percent of sales for the season, so make sure that you’re prepared. Your floor should be cleaned up and full of new spring product. If you’re not ready now, you’re going to have to do a very fast transition to capture sales in the first wave.
