WeSC names Janus managing director for US

WeSC NEW YORK—WeSC has hired Joseph Janus as its managing director for the US. Janus, formerly the creative director for Bodhi Bags, will oversee WeSC’s sales, marketing, production, design and merchandising.

Janus has had a varied career. He founded Fearless Management, a music industry firm that managed artists and produced music. He has also directed advertising and marketing at Calvin Klein.

“I am very excited to join the WeSC team and become part of the Superlative Conspiracy,” commented Janus. “I have always been impressed with how WeSc has stayed true to it self and become a true, original, global streetwear brand. We will have many new launches this year including an underwear line and huge focus on audio and headphones in CE distribution.”

In June 2012, the Swedish streetwear brand licensed Oved Apparel Group for its US wholesale business.

WeSC, which stands for “We Are the Superlative Conspiracy,” was founded as a skateboarding-focused t-shirt, hats and jeans business in Sweden in 2000. It’s also known for its line of headphones.
