Continuing his contemporary take on traditional American clothing, Billy Reid’s F/W13 collection offers updated staples in a palette of autumnal browns, oranges and purple, with pops of red, and black and gray undertones. Layering flannel shirts, light leather jackets, and tailored topcoats with fur details displayed a dressy ruggedness, with shawl collar tuxedo jackets, double-breasting, and velvet suiting an elegant compliment.
“The approach this season was about the clothes and how our friends would wear them,” said Billy. “Ultimately, I wanted the clothes to feel real, finely tailored and constructed with everything we can put into it; clothes that have an unforced elegance, but certainly ready for whatever the occasion.”
The runway show also debuted bags from a new limited edition design partnership, Coach + Billy Reid, launching in September 2013.
