Life lessons from Team Izod

Among the things that we at MR are most proud of: helping our industry’s wonderful organizations give people back their dignity via new clothes. Dignity U Wear, Suited for Work, and Fashion Delivers are just a few of our favorites; Sports University/Team Izod is another so that when the call came from Ed Bright that his (rather tall) high school student athletes needed blazers for the 2013 season, we turned to David Levin of Destination XL and Ron Wurtzburger of Peerless who didn’t hesitate to help out.

As you can see from the photo above, these young men look terrific in their new clothes and are headed toward not only a successful basketball season but, more importantly, toward successful lives. Says Ed Bright, “We stand for so much more than just basketball here at Team Izod. When we first started some eight years ago we didn’t know if our message of academics and character first would resonate with these young athletes, many of whom were looking to use sports to improve their economic situation. Well, we’ve discovered that our message resonates loud and clear, not only for our student athletes but also for their families, peers and communities. The ability of our young men to look the part and dress for success is integral to our message. We give you our sincere thanks for sponsoring us with Izod blazers. We will wear them with pride.”
