“Barbara is joining Hudson during an exciting time in our brand’s growth,” commented Kim in a statement. “Her depth of international experience in retail operations, merchandising, and general management, coupled with her demonstrated ability to streamline businesses, will help us continue to propel forward on every front of our expansion.”
Added Cook, “I feel privileged to join a brand whose vibrancy and authenticity is at the core of everything it creates, which customers have clearly responded positively to. I have immense respect for Peter’s vision and for what the brand has accomplished in a relatively short time. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him and the Hudson team to take the business to the next level as a leading global designer denim brand.”
Cook was with The Wet Seal, a single-branded, mall-based young women’s apparel chain, since 2011. She spent about six years at Gap Inc. launching Banana Republic in Europe and working with the Gap brand as SVP of stores and operations. She has also held positions at Starbucks and T-Mobile.
Hudson Jeans was founded in 2002 by Peter Kim.
