As part of plans to extend its Izod brand, PVH Corp has entered into a license agreement with Five Star Blue to market and distribute men’s denim.
Under the agreement, which will run through 2018, New York-based Five Star Blue will produce and distribute Izod-branded men’s denim pants and shorts in regular and big & tall sizes. The products will be available at major department and specialty stores in the US, Canada and Mexico.
“The new denim line is a natural extension for the Izod brand lifestyle,” said PVH president of licensing Ken Wyse. “We welcome Five Star Blue onto our team of Izod licensees, and believe it is the best company to help us establish the Izod brand in this product classification.”
Meanwhile, Five Star Blue executive vice president Albert Pardo, said: “Izod is already an iconic American brand and adding denim to the mix is a natural next step to round out its already impressive sportswear offering.”
Five Star Apparel, which manufacturers more than 10 million pairs of jeans annually, has licensed brands including Hudson Kids, WESC, Company 81, Wendy Bellisimo, Vigoss Girls, Akademiks, Enyce and NBA-licensed Zipway activewear. It has a global production base, spanning across 12 countries.
PVH has entered into several Izod licensing deals in the last few months. The company entered into an agreement with Comercio Excelente Norte Sur SA de CV last week to market and distribute men’s and boy’s apparel and men’s accessories in Mexico.
