NEW YORK—Happy Socks, the Swedish sock brand, opens its first store in the US today. The store is at 436 West Broadway, between Prince and Spring Streets, in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood.
Cofounder and creative director Viktor Tell worked with Happy Socks’ US licensee, United Legwear, on the shop.
“To open a store in New York—one of the greatest cities in the world—has been a long-time dream for us, and United Legwear Co. has helped make that dream reality,” said Tell.
“The market has demanded a high-style sock that doesn’t cost as much as a pair of shoes,” added Isaac E. Ash, CEO of United Legwear. “Timing in the market, pricing, and of course, the fabulous designs have all been key factors in the success of Happy Socks. The retail store will offer a complete ‘Happy’ experience that shows off the brand’s unique personality.”
Happy Socks, known for its colorful designs, was founded in Stockholm, Sweden in 2008 by Viktor Tell and Mikael Soderlindh.
United Legwear was founded in 1998 in New York City by Isaac E. Ash.
