Alex Maine acquired by Tru-Line LLC

Alex MaineLOS ANGELES—Alex Maine Pants and Apparel has been acquired by Baltimore-based Tru-Line LLC. Alex Maine founder Bron Heussenstamm will stay on as president and Dan Marriner as VP of design.

“This is a great day for Alex Maine. For the first two years of existence, we really wanted to prove the concept that the most comfortable pants and apparel in the world could be made in America, and we could bring those jobs home,” said Heussenstamm. “Having grown up inside of a clothing store, this is a dream come true for myself, my friends and partners, and Alex Maine’s amazing head designer Dan Marriner, as well as the rest of the Alex Maine family.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to be involved with Alex Maine,” added Tru-Line CEO Cody Crowell. “To see what this company has been able to achieve in just two years is incredible.”

Bron Heussenstamm, whose parents founded the stores Newport and Huntington Surf & Sport, started Alex Maine as a made-in-America menswear brand with a retail store on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles in 2011. The brand will expand into women’s wear for 2014.
