French luxury fashion label Lanvin has named Michèle Huiban as its new CEO.
Huiban has been with the company since 2008 and became deputy CEO in 2011. Her appointment follows the sudden resignation of Thierry Andretta in April this year, which Lanvin said was due to personal reasons.
These are said to have related to differences over strategy with Lanvin’s major shareholder, Taiwanese billionaire, Shaw-Lan Wang.
Andretta took the helm at Lanvin at the beginning of 2009, tasked with accelerating the development of France’s oldest haute couture house, which was founded in 1889.
Under his leadership, Lanvin’s sales almost doubled over a four-year period reaching $306.3 million in 2012.
