Citizens of Humanity named Simon Miller the new men’s creative director. The first collection under Miller’s direction will be fall 2014. Citizens also promoted Catherine Ryu to women’s creative director from women’s head designer beginning with the summer and fall 2014 seasons.
Miller, who launched his namesake brand in 2006, said, “The market is competitive and you always have to evolve. We aren’t changing the DNA of the brand as its well set, and well loved. We just want to renew the identity.”
Founder and CEO Jerome Dahan commented, “Simon and Catherine have a deep understanding and appreciation of denim, a sophisticated taste level and an understanding of how to fully build a brand and its image. Working with both of them to further develop the Citizens of Humanity brand, for men’s and women’s, is exciting.”
President Amy Williams added, “As we continue to build our brand in the US and international markets, it’s critical to have the strongest possible design team that can lead both the product effort and overall creative direction of the company. It is an exciting time for the brand, especially with this fresh talent on the team.”
