What fun I had last night at The Hill, a wonderful East Side bar/restaurant that hosted the world-famous Manhattan Bloody Mary Mixdown (sponsored by Stoli vodka and The NYC Hot Sauce Expo).
I was there to cheer on Charlotte, N.C. retailer Bruce Julian and his wife Bonnie, who are launching a really cool business, Bevs&Bites, featuring Bruce’s famous Bloody Mary mix (which, at $9.95 retail per jar, is already a huge success in his store). Bruce started making and marketing his own secret recipe after sampling Bloody Marys around the world (it’s a tough job…) and collecting the best recipes from the best bartenders. Although they didn’t win last night’s competition, they had the loudest cheering squad and based on my personal taste test, this is the one to watch (and drink!). And soon they will be adding the Bruce Julian rimmer and mango hot sauce.
Retailers wanting to order the mix for their own stores should contact Bonnie Julian (last night’s most beautiful bartender) at email@example.com.
