As part of ongoing efforts to accelerate global growth, Wolverine Worldwide has promoted company veteran James Zwiers to president of its International Group.
Zwiers, who currently serves as president of Wolverine’s Performance Group, replaces William Brown who has announced his retirement.
“Our global business model is one of the key differentiators for Wolverine, and Jim Zwiers is uniquely qualified to lead the International Group as the company expands the reach of its brands around the world,” said Wolverine Worldwide chairman and CEO Blake Krueger.
James Gabel will succeed Zwiers as president of the Performance Group, which includes the Merrell, Saucony, Chaco, Cushe and Patagonia footwear brands.
He most recently served as president of Adidas Group Canada, where he was responsible for the growth and development of the Adidas, Reebok, Rockport, Ashworth, Adams Golf and TaylorMade brands.
In addition, Andrew Simister has been appointed as president of the company’s Lifestyle Group, which comprises of Sperry Top-Sider, Hush Puppies, Keds and the Stride Rite Children’s Group.
He joins Wolverine from Pentland Brands, where he was president of the the Lacoste Footwear brand. Prior to this, Simister held leadership roles at German sportswear brand Puma.
“The leadership changes announced today represent the next step in the evolution of Wolverine Worldwide…These changes help position our company for future growth and success,”Krueger added.
