DC Shoes and NYC-based artist and designer SSUR celebrated their third collaboration last Tuesday night with a release party at Pravda in Soho.
The latest installment of DC’s Artist Projects Series centers around the theme, “An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.” The sneaker acts as a canvas for SSUR, Russian-born Ruslan Karablin, to “express his perspective of a cautionary tale against war.” SSUR illustrates his point by mixing different warfare camouflage and a printed image of a rising mushroom cloud on the insole. DC shoes are known for their technical aspects and this limited-edition is no different, SSUR uses all water-resistant materials so the wearer can stomp through muddy battlegrounds, or city street puddles. The SSUR WR retails for $150 and is available at SSUR Plus on 7 Spring Street in New York, and in specialty boutiques worldwide.

Each week, MR’s editors will comment on a product we’ve seen in the market. It could be an emerging trend, a novel take on a classic or something that just caught our eyes.
