Each week, we'll post a photo or two of great window displays, creative merchandising, or other visual representations of retail. If your store has windows or displays you think we ought to know about, send them to web editor Harry Sheff.
Ken Giddon of Rothman's in New York City got to work one morning in September to find the above scene. Fortunately, no one was hurt; it all happened before the store opened and there was no actual damage to the building.
Although the Rothman's window displays are obscured by wreckage, we couldn't resist sharing this bizarre incident with our readers. The window shows the faces of McCain and Obama.
“It is either a disgruntled Hillary supporter or our ever popular 10% off on socks doorbuster,” Giddon joked in an e-mail. ”It looked worse than it actually was. We were up and running by 11am. Just another day in the Big Apple.”
